SEAN PRESTON – EDITOR-IN-CHIEF
Sean is from East London and he is stuck there. Open Pen is a project he had in mind for some years. In late 2010, Sean unquietly went about making a magazine once described as ‘other’.
Our editor’s love of fiction is most apparent within the pages of fellow self-aware toad Ernest Hemingway, fellow cry-baby Franz Kafka, fellow grump Friedrich Nietzsche and fellow poorly child Marcel Proust.
He also writes, obviously. Here are some articles he hasn’t written:

I Only Want To Select The Postcode, Why Is It Linking Through To Maps?
ANNA HARVEY – ASSISTANT EDITOR
After Pina Coladas, Anna’s next most favourite thing is anything to do with the arts. A prolific consumer of literature, music and art and far less prolific producer of the same, she has been described as an all round Renaissance woman (amongst other things).
Anna fell in love with Open Pen’s pastel shades and saw an opportunity to nurture it in the blossoming East London literary scene, where she likes to sit in the pub round the corner from her house, writing stories and exchanging pleasantries with the local patrons.
KATE ELLIS – SUBMISSIONS
Kate is a bookseller and writer. Her fiction has appeared in Open Pen, way back in Issue Four.
ALSO ON THE RAG TEAM: JOE JOHNSTON, NICOLA DAY, PIERS PEREIRA.
JOSH NEAL – ILLUSTRATIONS

SCOTT MANLEY HADLEY – REVIEWS
A failed wannabe novelist/drag artiste, who here discusses numerous books he wishes he’d written, all of his opinions clouded by depression and alcoholism (both of which he’s working on, but, you know, it’s hard.)
His literary lifestyle blog can be read her: https://triumphofthenow.com
JAMES KING – ONLINE EDITOR
When he’s not reading, writing, running or ruining his workout results by indulging his sweet tooth, James proofreads and edits our online content.
N QUENTIN WOOLF – RESIDENT WRITER
Open Pen Magazine hosts the writing of writer and broadcaster (Londonist Out Loud) N Quentin Woolf. Woolf writes both fiction and nonfiction for Open Pen Magazine. His debut novel The Death of The Poet was out on Serpent’s Tail in 2014, and is available from all good bookshops.
